Published Posts – Some of our prebuilt websites contain published blog posts. If you import on a live site, plugins like JetPack will notice new posts and push them out into your blog feed. How To Import A Prebuilt Avada Website

How To Import A Prebuilt Avada Website

The easiest way to import any one of our prebuilt websites is to use our Prebuilt Website Importer. This can be found at Avada > Websites. You can access this area after you have registered your purchase via Purchase Code.
Here, you will find all of our prebuilt websites, and with Avada 6.2 and up, you will also find a Filter in the left hand column, to help you find exactly the style of website you want.
Importing prebuilt websites is recommended to do on a fresh WordPress install. Importing a prebuilt website will not replace existing content like posts, pages, portfolios, etc. and it will not delete current menus or sliders. It will, however, import and set as active the prebuilt website menus, add sliders and replace current Avada Global Options with prebuilt website options. It will also replace WordPress Reading and Widget Settings. So for these reasons, it is strongly recommended you do not import a prebuilt website on a completed, or under progress, website.

Website Content DuplicatedWith the Prebuilt Website importer in Avada 5.2 and above, it』s not possible to import duplicate content (unless the website content was imported in Avada 5.1.6 or before and then you imported again in 5.2+). However, if you do have duplicate website content from versions before 5.2 or due to existing website content before importing again on 5.2, you can use the below methods to address this:
Method 1: WP Reset Plugin – This plugin is the fastest way to get rid of content. However, it will remove all content from your database and leave the default theme activated. It does not remove plugins, but will deactivate them and remove all pages, posts, menus, sliders, widget data, Global Options, etc. It removes all the content from your database. Only do this if you are planning to start your site freshly from a new WordPress install/new Prebuilt Website import. Click here to download the WP Reset plugin.
Method 2: Manual Removal – This method will take longer and simply involves manually removing duplicate items. For example, go to the Appearance > Menu and delete any duplicate items one by one. It will be the same process for pages, post, sliders, images etc.

How To Import Individual Website Sections Using The Prebuilt Website Importer

How To Import Individual Website Sections Using The Prebuilt Website Importer

If you don』t want to import an entire prebuilt website, or you want to import extra content from another prebuilt website, you can also import individual sections of a website using the Prebuilt Website Importer.
When importing a Prebuilt Website, you are faced with a dialog with multiple sections. In the top section, is a list of plugins you need to have installed to successfully import the full prebuilt website.
Under this, on the left hand side, is the Import Content section. Normally, All is selected to import the full prebuilt website. But it is possible to just import the pages, or posts, or Layouts, or any section of the website that you want. Just select the section(s) you want to import, and click the Import button at the bottom.
Important Information For Importing SectionsIt is NOT recommended to import more than one full prebuilt website, without first removing the original import. This is because when importing a full import, global options are imported, and there can only be one set of these.
However, it is possible to import other sections from a website on top of a full import, as they can also be successfully removed using the Importer. The basic rule here, is not to import the 「options」 as this will conflict with any previous import.

Step 5 – A warning pop up will appear informing you again that this action is irreversible. If you』d like to proceed, click 『Ok』.
Step 6 – Once finished, you』ll be left with a clean WordPress install. You can then re-activate Avada and the included plugins, then import the next prebuilt website you』d like to try or begin adding your own content.
Method 3: Manual RemovalThis method will take longer and requires more work but can be done if you want to only remove specific content and keep other prebuilt website content. This method simply involves manually removing/deleting the prebuilt website content items. For example, you would need to go to your 「Pages」 section and select the page or pages you want to remove and delete them. Repeat this process as needed through the various content areas in WordPress. You can use this method if you』ve already created pages and posts or edited some of the prebuilt website pages/posts and don』t want to lose that work.
