Avada Grandfathered Support

Avada Grandfathered Support

Envato started a paid initiative for item support on September 1st, 2015. Any item purchased includes 6 months of support with paid options to extend. This new policy applies to all purchases, past or present.
ThemeFusion is fully committed to our customers and we took the initiative to introduce Grandfathered support for any purchases made before September 1st, 2015. Purchases made after September 1st, 2015 must follow the new paid support initiative introduced by Envato. It is important to note that paid support is an Envato initiative, while Grandfathered Support, with the agreement of Envato, is an initiative that we (ThemeFusion) created.
What Is Grandfathered Support?Grandfathered Support is simply a term we are using for any purchases made before September 1st, 2015. The level of support given is the same as we have always provided. Grandfathered Support applies to any customer that purchased Avada BEFORE September 1, 2015. This entitles qualifying customers to continue receiving hands on support via our system for as long as we continue to develop and maintain Avada.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Grandfathered support is only valid on sites that are using a license purchased before September 1, 2015.Envato』s System Versus ThemeFusion』s SystemIt is important to note that ThemeFusion』s support system does not synchronize with Envato』s system. If you are qualified for Grandfathered Support, when you view your account on ThemeForest you will most likely see a 「Support Expired」 badge because you were only eligible for support 6 months after the purchase date. This is how Envato』s system works because they do not have a Grandfathered system. ThemeFusion』s support system is where you will receive Grandfathered support. Simply login to our support site and you will be able to access all support resources and our ticket system.
Do I Qualify For Grandfathered Support? To qualify for Grandfathered Support, you need to have purchased a copy of the Avada Theme from ThemeForest before September 1st, 2015. Continue reading below to learn how to verify your purchase date.
How To Verify Your Purchase DateTo know if you』re qualified for Grandfathered Support, you must first verify your purchase date. Please see below for instructions on how to view the exact purchase date of your Avada Theme license.
Step 1 – Login to your ThemeForest account and go to the Downloads tab.
Step 2 – Locate the Avada theme copy you』d like to verify, then download the License Certificate and Purchase Code file. You can choose to download either the .PDF or the .TXT file.
Step 3 – Inside the License Certificate and Purchase Code file, you』ll find your Purchase Date information for that particular copy of Avada.
Need To Setup A Support Account? Many of you already have a support account and can login on our home page. If you do not have an account yet, please follow the steps outlined in this post to get setup.

The End Of Support for IE11

The End Of Support for IE11

All things come to an end, and some stay around way longer than planned… Internet Explorer 11 is one of these. And so, we are finally ending support for Internet Explorer 11 in Avada. Read on to find out the why and what of this change, and what it means to you if you have a site that』s regularly viewed on IE11.
Since the release of Avada in 2012, browser compatibility has been and continues to be a cornerstone of our development roadmap and evolution. As a team, we have made the decision to end IE11 support for Avada as of the release of version 7.4.

Avada License Information

Avada License Information

When purchasing Avada (or any WordPress theme) via the Themeforest marketplace, you have two licensing options; the Regular License, and the Extended License. The regular license will suffice for 99% of users. The purchasing process, invoicing, and licensing is facilitated by Envato.
Below, we have listed the nuts and bolts of the Regular License for you as a quick reference, as well as a section on how to transfer a License.
To learn more about what each License is for, we strongly recommend reading Themeforest』s official licensing terms.
The Nuts and Bolts of the Regular LicenseThings you can doThe Regular License grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, worldwide license to make use of Avada. You are licensed to use Avada to create one single website (end product), for yourself or for one client.
That website is an end product, created through customization within Avada, which requires an application of skill and effort to be created.
You can create one website (end product) for a client, and you can transfer that single website (end product) to your client for any fee. This license is then transferred to your client. You can use Avada and can combine it with other works and plugins to create your single website (end product), which is subject to the terms of the license. You can do these things as long as the end product you then create is one that』s permitted by the license.Things you can』t doYou can』t sell the website (end product) to more than one client.
You can』t re-distribute Avada as stock, in a tool or template, or with source files.
Although you can modify Avada and therefore change components before creating your single website (end product), you can』t extract and use a single component of Avada on a stand-alone basis.
You must not permit an end user of the website (end product) to extract Avada and use it separately from the website (end product).

You can』t use the Avada or ThemeFusion logo, or any trademarks associated with ThemeFusion.

How many Staging sites can I set up?Schantel2021-03-30T08:09:06+00:00How many Staging sites can I set up?You can set up one Staging site for each Avada license that you own.

Do I need to buy a new license if I use Avada on a sub-domain?Maximus802021-08-10T09:44:03+00:00Do I need to buy a new license if I use Avada on a sub-domain?This will actually depend on the use case. Licenses in general, apply to the end product you use them for. Usually, this end product will be a website with a specific topic. If you use sub-domains where the topic of the site is not identical or the general design is different, then these sub-domains represent own end products, thus you will need one license per sub-domain.
Only in cases where the topic and general design of your sub-domains match the purpose of your main site, it is fine to go with one license. In the latter case, you can contact us, and after review, we can enable your license for usage with sub-domains.
ExamplesMultiple sub-domains as multiple end productsSuppose you do a website where you present different branches of your business in different cities or countries. Thus, you create two different sub-domains: brancha.my-business.com and branchb.my-business.com. If the purpose of each of the sub-domain sites is a bit different or the general design is different, you have created different end products. So in this case you need one license per sub-domain.
Suppose you do a website for a retailer of apples and a retailer of pears, both hosted on your main domain. Thus, you create two different sub-domains: apple-retailer.my-grocery-hosting.com and pear-retailer.my-grocery-hosting.com. Your end products here clearly are the websites for each of the merchants, so in this case you need one license per sub-domain.
Multiple sub-domains in one end productSuppose you do a website where you present different departments of the same local company. Thus, you create two different sub-domains: sales.my-business.com and customercare.my-business.com. If the departments are presented in a way that uses the same general design as your main site, they count towards a single end product. So in this case you don』t need extra licenses per sub-domain.
Suppose you do a website for a grocery store and among other goods, you sell apples and pears. To show your supplies, you create two different sub-domains: apples.my-grocery-store.com and pears.my-grocery-store.com. Your end product clearly is the website for the grocery store, so you only need one license.

Changes to Registration with Avada 7.3

Changes to Registration with Avada 7.3

As of Avada 7.3, how you register your Avada website has changed. This was done primarily to simplify the process, based on user feedback, from using a generated Token key, to simply pasting in the Purchase Code to register your purchase of Avada. Read on for more details about this new process, and watch the video below for a visual overview.,Clean InstallFor a new install, registering is a simple matter of obtaining the purchase key from the ThemeForest account that purchased Avada and pasting it in to the registration field on the Avada Dashboard. See the How To Register Avada documentation for full details on this process. If you are updating your website from an earlier version to Avada 7.3, the process will be slightly different. In this case, your site would already be registered with a Token Key, and this needs to be replaced with a Purchase Code.

Get Avada,Updating to Avada 7.3+Once you have updated Avada, and updated both the Required plugins, you will see a message on the Avada Dashboard about the site registration, as you can see in the screenshot below. There is a grace period of 10 days for you to locate your purchase code, and re-register with the new method. Within these 10 days, the site will be as normal, and you can still update plugins and import prebuilt sites, etc.
Once you have located the relevant purchase code, all you need to do here is click on Update Registration, paste the code into the Registration field, and click Register Now! You』ll be rewarded with a confirmation message and a tick, and it will also show as registered at the top of the Dashboard.
Each Avada website you create needs to have a unique purchase code, so allocate each copy of Avada you have purchased to a specific website. That said, this new registration system still allows you to have a registered development site, whether it be a staging or local site, as well as the main website, but the way you manage this has changed a little bit.
Please see the Avada License/Registration Q&A linked below, for answers to many commonly asked questions about licensing and registration, and check out the How To Use The ThemeFusion Support Desk documentation for more information on how to manage your license registrations.
